Over 3,000 vehicles and 37 customer organizations are served by Mumbai-based TruckBhejo.

The father of Nilesh Ghule was a truck driver. According to Nilesh, his parents’ lack of money caused them to experience a number of difficulties. Furthermore, the situation was made worse by the social allergy associated with truck drivers. Nilesh made the decision not to go it alone into the logistics sector. But even so, he was going to follow the same route.

Following his graduation, he enrolled in IIM Bangalore. Later on, he held positions with Reliance Jio and Infosys. It was at that point that he came to understand how lucrative the logistics and technology industries were.

“After witnessing all the difficulties, I would not like to work in the logistics sector. However, the nationwide digital shift got me to thinking,” Nilesh says.
Together with Supreet Peristala, a fellow IIM student, Nilesh co-founded TruckBhejo in 2016.
Under annual contract, the business offers automotive services to businesses in the retail, manufacturing, and consumer sectors. According to the company, one million deliveries have been made thus far.

Among the companies that use Truckbajo are Flipkart, Amazon, Nestlé, and Hindustan Lever.

How does it operate?

Nilesh’s goal was to launch a technology-driven logistics startup prior to joining the logistics sector. TruckBhejo uses technology to establish a connection between the customer, driver, and operations manager in any project. The company develops apps to trace freight from point of origin to point of destination. Additionally, it uses three elements to track truck drivers’ whereabouts.

This application produces notifications. For instance, the operations manager can notify and arrange for a solution if a truck driver needs to remain in one location for three hours, according to Nilesha.

According to Nilesh, planning is essential to the effectiveness of operations. Order and disorder are determined by logistics, he claims.

TruckPageo simplifies servicing procedures because everything is prearranged at the outset. He adds that he chooses which cars are distributed among the group.

Notifying the client of the dispatch plan is the next step. Ultimately, a decision is made regarding which vehicle should be sent with which shipment. Businesses on a contractual basis with TruckPage include Flipkart, Amazon, and others. It serves small enterprises as well.

According to Nilesh, the company has approximately 3,000 trucks and 37 client companies.

Market potential

The supply chain market is anticipated to reach $41.7 billion by 2026 after COVID-19. In India, there are numerous opportunities for this. Rivago, Blackbuck, Shadowbox, and other businesses are competitors.

Truckpage takes orders ranging from 25 tons to 500 kilograms. Make money by entering into yearly contracts.

He states, “We bill based on the route and vehicle needed to finish the freight service.”
E-commerce businesses bill by the packet for both total delivery and nation delivery services.

The drivers receive the remaining money after the corporation takes home a commission of 13 to 14 percent. Digital money transactions are also performed.
In 2017, the company raised Rs 3.75 crore in debt financing and Rs 1.6 crore in equity investment. The company’s revenue this year has surpassed Rs 30 crore, up from Rs 27 crore the previous year.
Future Schedule
In the future, the company hopes to establish itself as a top brand. According to Nilesh, the industry has also improved as people’s understanding of the difficulties faced by truck drivers has grown.

“We hear people refer to truck drivers as partners or pilots. This indicates a shift, he claims.

Owing to the effects of COVID-19, a number of inquiries about the logistics industry have surfaced. According to Nilesh, they have received assistance from clients in the consumer sector.

In the upcoming years, the organization intends to extend operations throughout 150–200 Indian cities. Additionally, it is growing into the market for small and medium-sized businesses.

“The nation’s next great success story will be its small and medium-sized businesses. Nilesh adds, “We wish to participate in it as well.
