Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora’s alleged relationship have been creating buzz in the B-Town. The couple has been spotted numerous times together, from movie dates, dinner dates to attending parties. Rumours of the duo getting hitched have been doing rounds in Bollywood.
Arjun Kappor and Malaika Arora have also purchased an apartment in a rich society near Andheri’s Lokhandwala. Now, based on the latest reports, the couple is all geared up to take their relationship to the next level by marrying each other.
Reportedly, they will tie the knot in a Christian wedding in the month of April 2019. The whole marriage would be a private, family affair without too much of celebration or hype. Malaika Arora’s sister, Amrita Arora too had a quiet Christian marriage with her beau Shakeel Ladak followed by a hyped reception. And it looks like the elder sister Malaika might follow her younger sister
Malaika was previously hitched to Salman Khan’s younger brother Arbaaz Khan. She has a 16-year-old son Arhaan with her ex-husband. Arhaan was recently spotted enjoying a peaceful lunch date with his mom and Arjun. The dinner date had further fuelled the rumors about their marriage.
Actor Arun Vijay’s ‘Thadam’ is a whodunit thriller flick that is closely based on several real-life crimes where the accused are identical twins. Director Magizh Thirumeni has utilized this idea of identical twins, which is a new concept and weaved a gripping story which is appealing and crisp with a pulse quickening shock and suspense in the climax.
Ezhil (Arun Vijay) is a civil engineer who lives a normal upper middle class lifestyle. He owns an expensive BMW car, lives in a lavish bungalow and his life goes in the correct direction with his construction company performing well. He is in a relationship with film journalist Deepika (Tanya Hope).
Ezhil’s twin brother is Kavin, who is a shrewd, street smart, con artist, who tricks money from bootleggers, woo several women, and knows all the flaws in the legal system. His only drawback is the gambling which he inherited from his mom (Sonia Aggarwal) who got separated from her husband when her sons were young.
The lives of both Ezhil and Kavin didn’t cross each other at any point of time. The twin brothers live their own life until a crime takes place in the city and Ezhil is caught by cop Gopalakrishnan (Fefsi Vijayan) with respect to his picture which was found in a selfie taken by the neighbour of the deceased. Also, police arrest Kavin in a drunken driving case and he is brought to the same station causing confusion among the police officers.
Both Kavin and Ezhil deny their involvement in the crime. Gopalakrishnan wants to frame Ezhil for personal reasons, so he asks his smart assistant Malarvizhi (Vidya Pradeep) to solve the complicated crime. The remaining part of the story is how police find the real murderer.
The screenplay will surely keep you hooked up till the end. The director neatly portrays the contrasting journey and lifestyle of the twin brothers. Until the sequence where both the brothers meet, we don’t know their story and why they look alike.
The major drawback in the film is the forced flashback story featuring Sonia Agarwal, as her role neither creates buzz or sympathy. But, Magizh Thirumeni compensates it the last 20 minute climax filled with plenty of twists and turns. The screenplay is stylish and smart. Thadam’s biggest plus is Arun Vijay’s convincing acting as Kavin and Ezhil. Even though the brothers look alike, Arun Vijay displays unique body language and dialogue delivery for the two roles.
Vidya Pradeep has lived her character as the smart cop. Fefsi Vijayan and Yogi Babu are perfect. On the whole, if you overlook the dud flashback scenes, Thadam is an interesting must watch thriller film.

If stars Raj Aryan and Megha made us cry in ‘Mohabbatein’, Dev and Paro’s stunning chemistry in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’ has been imprinted in our memories. Even though Shah rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai didn’t portray each other’s love interest in ‘Josh’, audiences loved that too.
The duo was in a rage in the late ‘90’s and early 2000’s. Therefore, when Shah Rukh Khan planned to feature in is own production ‘Chalte Chalte’ the fans were very happy with the news. But, King Khan had to drop her from the movie – find out why.
Shah Rukh Khan and Rani Mukerji’s ‘Chalte Chalte’ was one of the greatest blockbuster films of its time. The fans praised their performances and the story of the movie. But some of you may not be aware of the fact that gorgeous actress Aishwarya Rai was supposed to portray the female lead in the flick.
It is speculated that Aishwarya Rai has started acting in the movie, but, suddenly one day Salman Khan showed up on the set in a drunken state and stormed a ruckus. It was rumoured that Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai were in a relationship. After this situation, Shah Rukh Khan replaced Aishwarya Rai with Rani Mukerji as the female protagonist as he was ticked off.
But, SRK has also apologized about the problem and had expressed that it was wrong of him to drop Aishwarya Rai from the movie and it was unfair to her. But, he also said that, though it was not her fault, as a producer, he thought it was the correct thing to do at that time.
Even Aishwarya Rai has spoken on the issue on a chat show and explained that there were talks of several movies with Shah Rukh Khan but surprisingly, without any word, it was terminated.
The bandits and dacoits have often seen restricted to the film ‘Sholay’ in Hindi film industry, but director Abhishek Chaubey shatters all these myths with a bold, poignant, and on-glamorous Sonchiriya.
Set in the year 1975, the film revolves around a bandit gang led by Maan Singh (Manoj Bajpayee) with Lakhan (Sushant Singh Rajput) his most trusted member and Vakil Singh (Ranvir Shorey, who is his friend. While the bandits are the mouse in the circle, the cop Virendra Gujjar (Ashutosh Rana) is the snake who hunts them, and with the caste being the vulture hunting everyone, it is a dangerous circle, indeed. The director has given an interesting caste politics drama, but the film is disappointingly slow paced.
Just like his previous film ‘Udta Punjab’, Abhishek shows the problems, the anxiety, fear with extreme subtly while giving us a glimpse of the bandit’s dark world. Each character in the film is trying to find their salvation, trying to escape from their fate. They are not confused, but, they were brought up to think that it is their ‘Dharma’ to safeguard their caste and folks. They somehow think that are fated for this rollercoaster life.
Their never ending issues come to a stop when they meet a distressed Indumathi (Bhumi Padnekar) who has escaped to get treatment for a young rape survivor. Indumathi is also another victim of the patriarchy, who, despite her efforts to come out of it finds herself tied to it. Though the movie is set in 1975, the director has balanced the storyline of the film with modernity. The director’s effort at giving each character a backdrop and a story is commendable.
Cinematographer Anuj Rakesh Dhawan has captured the canyons very beautifully. But, it is the acting that stands out. Though you might feel bored within an hour, if patient, you will surely be mesmerized by the film at the end. The action scenes were directed pretty well. Manoj Bajpayee’s cameo role shows why he is one of the best stars of Bollywood.
Sushant delivers a top-notch performance as Lakhan by literally living the character. Also, Shorey acted well as Vakil Singh. The impulsiveness, despair, and maturity that he displays as the character are noteworthy. On the whole, Abhishek Chaubey has given an unconventional but engaging film, but not for everyone.
