Pepper, cumin, garlic, etc. which we add to this lemon Rasam will give digestive power.   • Rasam powder(roast and ground Pepper,Jeera,coriander) – 2 tbsp
  • Asafoetida – a Pinch
  • Tomato – 1
  • Green chilli – 1
  • dal – 100 gm
  • Lemon – 2
  • Salt – Oil as required  
  • Curry leaves – 1
  • mustard  – 1 tsp

Preparation Method

  • First, Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 pinch of asafoetida, chopped tomatoes, green chillies (chopped lengthwise) and two cups of water and let it boil.
  • Add 1 cup of boiled duram dal and cook till all the ingredients turn green.
  • Add rasappodi and heat for two minutes. * Season mustard and curry leaves and add it.
  • Drain it and squeeze 2 limes and mix well. Add the dal boiled water.


  • Do not mix the rasam till it is done cooking.
