Which hand to read
The right hand (for a right-handed person) — the nature you were born with, what your parents gave you. The left hand — the present state you have built for yourself. For women, it is reversed. A large difference between them means a big change has taken place in your life.
The four major lines
Heart line — the upper line, branching towards the thumb side. Love and emotion. Head line — the horizontal line through the middle. Thinking and intellect. Life line — the curve wrapping around the thumb. Energy, health, turning points (length ≠ lifespan). Fate line — vertical, from the wrist towards the middle finger. Work and path.
The seven mounts
Below each finger sits a mount, belonging to a planet. Jupiter (index) — leadership. Saturn (middle) — responsibility. Apollo (ring) — art and recognition. Mercury (little finger) — communication and business. Venus (base of the thumb) — love and affection. Luna (below, on the little-finger side) — imagination. Mars (between thumb and little finger) — courage.
Fingers and shape
Long fingers — an enquiring memory, a thinker. Short fingers — energy for doing, intuition. A soft palm — sensitivity, art. A hard or square palm — practicality, hard work. A thumb that bends back easily — a yielding nature.
Common misconceptions
‘A short life line means an early death’ — false. Length is not lifespan, it is energy. Breaks and splits are not a verdict of fate, they mark changes. The palm is a guide, not a curse or a blessing. The decision stays in your hands.
