Childhood

Rajinikanth was the youngest of four siblings when he was born on December 12, 1950, as Shivaji Rao Gaikwad in a Marathi family. After his mother Jijabai passed away while he was a little child and his family experienced a serious financial difficulty, he was compelled to work odd jobs at Mysore Machinery, including office boy, coolie, carpenter, and once earning money by carrying rice sacks.

From Bus Conductor to Movie Star: The Journey

As he grew older, he took an exam to get a bus conductor license and started working for The Bangalore Transport Service. Because of the way he issued tickets and gave back change to passengers, he was a highly well-liked conductor in Bangalore. They were just interested in riding aboard the bus starring Rajinikanth. He performed in Kannada stage plays, saw a lot of movies, and tried to emulate M. G. Ramachandran, Rajkumar, and Sivaji Ganesan during this time. He claimed that his involvement in movies was due to Ganesan.

He enrolled in the Madras Film Institute in 1973 to pursue acting training. He made contact with Indian film director K. Balachander, who was mostly involved in the Tamil film industry, at that period. Rajnikanth did not immediately win him over, and he was counseled to forge his own distinct style. When they reconnected in 1975, Rajnikanth was able to win over K. Balachander and land a supporting role. When Rajinikanth first started his career, he primarily portrayed negative and supporting characters. His breakthrough performance was in the lead role of Bhairavi, his debut film. The world quickly became aware of his acting prowess.

His Life’s Achievements

He released a number of huge successes throughout the ensuing years and even appeared in films in other languages. He made a name for himself as a commercial entertainer in the 1990s, working on several critically and commercially successful films, including Thalapathi (1991), Annamalai (1992), Baasha (1995), and Padayappa (1999). As a result, he became an icon rather than just an actor. Regardless of age, from six to sixty, his conversations and writing style struck a chord with all.
