“At that time, everything was an early morning call sheet. Mani Ratnam was very particular about photography. He and Santhosh we’re always a team. Everyone thought Rajini sir won’t come to the early morning shoot. Rajini sir didn’t like attending early morning shoot as he said “why are you making it difficult for sir” to which Mani sir replied “If 300 people can come, 301st person can also come” but everyone one of us insisted Mani sir not to shoot scenes with Rajini as we thought he won’t come” Shobana said.

“Rajini said also said that he can’t come that early. Around 3-4 am we have to climb a hill, no one will be there. Just a unit van and crew were climbing. At the top of the hill, a small light of cigarette was seen” Shobana said. “One person was sitting there and having his smoke. He was the first person to come. “You thought I won’t come right. I’m here. No make-up needed for me, just start shooting” he said. Those were the lovely moments, Thalapathy is a lovely film” Shobana added in the Malayalam television show.
