Mahat was born and bought up in Chennai. He had completed his degree in Hindustan College of Arts and Science. He showed his interest and passion towards acting right from his school days. He had started performing in stage shows during his college days. He had a good relationship with actor Simbu. Mahat was introduced by Silambarasan. Mahat debut movie was Vallavan Which was written and directed by Simbu. Vallavan was released in 2006 and he did a minor role in the movie. He also again acted in Silambaran Movie Kaalai in 2007. [caption id="attachment_9871" align="aligncenter" width="961"]

After a four years gape, he grabbed his career-best opportunity to act along with Thala Ajith. Mahat was a childhood friend of Udhayanidhi Alagiri who is the producer of Mankatha movie which was directed by Venkat Prabhu. Mahat performed an important role as a bar owner in this movie. It helped him to reach all over Tamil audience, even now he is called as Mankatha Mahat.

After that, he had acted in a couple of Telugu movie in 2013 namely Backbench Student and Bunny n Cherry and also he made a guest appearance in the Movie Biriyani which was again directed by Venkat Prabhu.

Right after acting with Thala with Ajith he grabbed an opportunity to act along with Ilayathalapthy Vijay in the movie Jilla which was released in 2014. After this movie, he had acted in Vadacurry, Chennai 600028 II, and Anbanavan Asaradhavan Adangadhavan
Mahat Girl Friend: Prachi Mishra
Prachi was a model, actress, and director. She has also appeared in ad films. Mahat and Prachi Mishra were been in love for a long time now and they are planning to tie a know sooner officially. She had also accompanied with Mahat while his Bigg Boss entry. A few years back they had met in an event which made them friends which leads them to this stage now.
