Usually fish can be stewed, fried but now a days we go a step further and make fish finger,chilli fish etc.But now lets step backward grandmother preparation village style sura puttu,it will be more delicious than all this.
This method was used to secrete milk for feeding mother.Not only for them its good for children and adults. There is no fat in Sura fish.This fish that we include in our diet contains Vitamin D,calcium,protein, phosphorous,iron, Zinc,Iodine and potassium. This fish is rich in omega-3 fatty acids. This nutrient helps to keep the body metabolism stable.
- Shark Fish – ½ kg
- Onion – ¼ kg
- Green chillies – 5
- Garlic – 20 cloves
- Turmeric powder – 1/ tsp
- Pepper powder – ½ tsp
- Ginger – 1 piece
- Salt – ½ spoon
- Oil – 5 tsp
- Curry leaves – 1 bunch
- Coriander – 1 handful
- First clean the fish well. Then put it in an idli pot and steam it for five minutes. Once the fish is cooked,remove the skin above it. Because the skin of this fish has small soil particles.so after boiling the skin of the fish must be removed.After removing, peel the fish well and take it in a plate.Remove the one that has only one pin in the middle.
- Then place the pan on the stove and pour five tsp of oil in it. When the oil heat,add finely chopped onion and a bunch of curry leaves.Saute the onion until it becomes glassy. Do not over fry.
- After that add the chop of the chilli. Similarly,peel the garlic and cut it into small pieces . Chop the ginger similarly and add it.
- Now when all the onion,garic and ginger curry leaves are partially fried in the oil,after adding a quarter tsp of turmeric powder,add the peeled fish and half a teaspoon of salt,stir well and keep it covered it for five minutes.Since the fish is already boiled,it does not take much time to cook. After five minutes,sprinkle ½ teaspoon of pepper powder on top,sprinkle some coriander leaves and fry well. Delicious sura puttu is ready.
