Directed by popular director Krish, NTR Mahanayakudu features Nandamuri Balakrishna, Vidya Balan, and Rana Daggubati in the lead roles. It is the recent victim of piracy as the complete film was released online for free download on its first day. The free download has significantly taken a toll on its total collection at the theatres.
An ill-famed group alleged recorded the full film during its screening in a theatre and leaked it on its website even before its evening show began. The website provides 6 different prints of the flick ranging between 200 MB to 2.2 GB for free download. Thousands of fans have apparently downloaded it in just three days.
The producers and distributors had very high hopes on NTR Mahanayakudu after NTR Kathanayakudu failed to impress at the box office and lead to huge losses for them. But unfortunately, the sequel of NT Rama Rao’s biography received a poor feedback at ticket counters, but the mixed response took a huge toll on its revenue with the film achieving zero share to distributors in certain areas on its day 2.
Initially, NTR Mahanayakudu faced a shortage of cinema halls, as it had to share the space with new releases like Mithai, Prementha Panichese Narayana, Anjali CBI, and 4 Letters. Also, the mixed word of mouth for the flick caused the other new releases the first options for movie buffs. Some audiences, who didn’t want to spend any penny on it, ended downloading full movie from the site.
