Mamathi Chari was born and bought up in Chennai, Tamilnadu. She had done her Schooling in Sacred Heart Matriculation Higher Secondary School, in Chennai. She showed an interest in media and that made here to host a television show called Hello Tamizha. She has also hosted a reality show called Jillunu Oru Challenge, in Vijay television. She was also an RJ and did a show Big Vanakam in Big FM 92.7.
Mamathi Chari was also one of the Judges in the program called TV stars which were aired in Vijay TV. She is also a writer and wrote a book on Old Madras and its Various Facets. She is also acted in the Vani Rani Serial which was telecasted in Sun TV
